Polish Party – February Chevrons!

The theme for the Polish Party this month was ‘chevrons’ – I was excited to get going with this design as I have never tried it before.

I opted for black and white with multi-coloured glitter on the ring finger. I have included a little tutorial to show you guys how I decided to make this design :)!

Chevron-nailsI decided to use the contrast that the colours black and white create to make the chevrons really stand out.  I also tend to make the nail on my ring finger different to the rest, so I decided to create a multi-coloured glitter chevron :)!

The black nail polish used in this design was China Glaze Liquid Leather and the white is one of my old nail polishes (the brand name is Pink Tease) and W7 for the multi-coloured glitter polish.

So here is how I made the design:

Untitled-11. After all my nails had been painted black and the two ring fingers painted with multi-coloured glitter, I waited for them to dry. Once completely dry I cut some masking tape into thin strips and applied them to my nail in the shape of a chevron.

2. I then applied my white nail polish over the whole design and waited for them to dry.

3. Once dry, remove the masking tape and you will be left with your beautiful chevron design.

4. Finish with a clear top coat (I used Sally Hansen) to secure the design and make it nice and shiny! 🙂

So that’s it! I was surprised how quick and easy this design was to do and I am really happy with the way they turned out :). What do you think? Was black and white a good contrast to use to make the chevrons stand out?

Below you can see the other nail designs that have been created for this months theme so far, they’re gorgeous!
