Monochrome Nail Art Design

Another fun theme for the FingerFoods’s Buffet – monochrome! Again, it must be because I’m new to nail art but I wasn’t sure what monochrome meant exactly. I searched on Google for ‘monochrome nails’ and all the ones that came up were black and white – which explains why I chose to do mine black and white. However, I later discovered that it actually refers to the shades of one colour, with black and white appearing to be the most popular option.

I recently came across a new nail shape that I have been wanting to try, so I thought I would do it for this manicure 🙂 ! I really like it and it was actually really easy to achieve this shape, so you can expect to see a lot more of this from me in the future 🙂 !

Black-and-white-monochrome-nails-opi-matte-top-coatopi-matte-top-coat-nail-artmonochrome-nails-OPI-matte-top-coatI went for a simple design this week (mostly because I didn’t have much time) but also because I love the simple yet effective look. The OPI matte top coat over the black makes it look almost like velvet!

So that’s my monochrome nail art design – do you like it? And what do you think of the nail shape?  For those interested, the white polish I used was by Pink Tease and the black was China Glaze ‘Liquid Leather‘, and I created the dots with a medium sized dotting tool 🙂 !
